There are two species of Turkeys in the world. In addition to the Wild Turkey Meleagris gallopavo, there is the Ocellated Turkey (Pavo del Petén o Guajalote Ocelado) Meleagris ocellata which is found in the Peten of Guatemala, Belize and the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. The Ocellated Turkey is much more colorful than the Wild Turkey.
